Winter collection 2011/12
The new Fall/Winter Collection 2011/12 takes its inspiration from the Versilian area, and presents a high sartoria artigianale of distinctive refinement. Extremely interesting and main subject of this collection, the revival of historical d’Avenza garments that past celebrities wore on, becoming style icons.
Namely, the Frascati overcoat, that Marlon Brando wears in The Last Tango in Paris, the new version of the Amalfi jacket in jacquard silk that Marcello Mastroianni shows during a party in Rome, and the Brunate smoking that Frank Sinatra dresses during a show in Montecarlo in 1962.
The attention to details, to precious fabrics, to exclusive trims and to traditional craftsmanship, boasts the uniqueness of past times still in the present days. Keeping in mind the key garments of past seasons, two collections, complete of overcoats, jackets, knitwear and accessories, were designed.
The fist one carries the name of Versilia, and reflects the sporty spirit of the Forte Jacket, with a total look made of suits and jackets named after the Riviera territory. Totally deconstructed blazers, with printed pure silk linings and horn buttons. Coats that play the role of the sartorial tradition of the British Warm and of the Forte Coat, historical icons that best show the complexity of traditional craftsmanship. Fabrics are all exclusive, double faces, printed linings, cashmeres, lambswools, silks.
The Three-piece suit is the new must, bringing to the collection cashmere and quilted vests, felt bombers with pashmina linings, hidrorepellent and wind protecting cashmere peacoats with silk lining.
The second collection, Stile Riviera, was born from the lifestyle raising in Forte dei Marmi between the fabulous ‘50’s and ‘60’s, and shows an understated, relaxed but casual way of dressing over the weekends. A refined sartorialità, with soft constructions and unique details, made in handcrafted cashmeres, vicunas, yaks, angoras, camels, with innovative knit fabrics as a pleasant and refined alternative to classic cardigans. The main colors are those of wet sands, burnt browns, pearl grays, water colors like ocean blues used both for fabrics and trims as an homage to the exclusive territory and to the marine winter panorama.
Smokings are presented in new versions: new fabrics both for the outside and the inside of the suits, confirm the traditional style that makes d'Avenza a real icon of sartorial elegance.
